Crystal Shipsss is the experimental recording project of Danish songwriter Jacob Faurholt, and "Sanctuary" is his first album under this moniker in six years.

As its title suggests, Faurholt describes the intent behind "Sanctuary" being to create a safe place, somewhere nostalgic, and removed from the world outside. Imagine, maybe, spending an afternoon in a dusty attic full of memories and super 8 family videos. Recorded at Faurholt's Horsens home in 2022, we might also find an essence of hygge woven throughout these nine tracks - the Danish term (related to the English word "hug") that's defined as "a quality of cosiness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being." However we approach it, "Sanctuary" gives off a warmth and light that glows brightly through the cold night.
